Day in, day out …
For the last few weeks you have been trying to gain a new customer: property management with several highly interesting properties, exacting but solvent. You made lots of efforts, followed up again and again and tried to schedule a consultation about the planned renovation. And of course just today (you have bought theatre tickets) and just now (you want to leave in one hour) he calls you. Well, he promised you to call, you hear him saying and asking if you could now come by. Certainly, you are already on your way.
On the site: there are 1000 square meters to renovate. Your customer has precise ideas but he wants to be offered several alternatives. You write down his wishes and come back to the office. Behind your back you hear him saying “Possibly for yesterday!”. Of course.
An offer too good to refuse
Back at the office you turn the computer on. You have already entered the data for your new customer. You now retrieve the data via the customer list and transfer it to the quotation. You use the keyboard to execute all of the necessary commands – with Caro you have the option of using both the keyboard and the mouse. The method that you choose is entirely down to your own personal preference and the amount of free desk space that you have.
Because Caro has saved in its memory all of the piece rates for flooring services, the latest item and price lists for wholesalers as well as overall calculations, you can begin the calculation process immediately. On the screen you display materials and pre-calulated services and select the desired items at the click of a button. You can enter all or some of the measurements immediately or later. Caro can also create a costing proposal using approximate values and takes the different margins with respect to the object size, customer, distance, etc. that you predefined into account. You can of course adjust the surcharges or the grand total, add pay scales once they have been agreed and apply changes to schedules and pay scales either globally or just for specific orders when you commission subcontractors, for example.
The programme also provides you with planning aids that assist you in calculating the necessary hourly rate for your business.
Your quotations are ready. You check the displayed profit figures carefully. Looking good! Satisfied, you print out the quotation ready to post. Before exiting the programme, you add the document to the electronic followup list. Caro will remind you to follow up the customer on Monday morning. And now you are heading home, you do not want to be late for the theatre!
